It was a bright Sunday morning on October 8 at the Indigenous Peoples Day celebration in Nevada City! We began by welcoming everyone with "Oli Aloha" and followed with a traditional kahiko, "'Ula Noweo." Offerings included dances featuring the ipu and pu'ili. The hālau acknowledged the people of Maui by dancing, "Kipahulu" and "Ka Nahona Pili Kai," both favorites of nā haumana. We look forward to participating in future IDP events in the years to come!
