5:30 – 6:30 pm
VIP Pūpū Hour
“Hula in the Mountains” celebrates more than a decade of sharing Hawaiian culture through music and dance in Nevada County.
An annual celebration of Aloha, a new theme unfolds this year through vibrant stage displays of traditional and modern hula, Hawaiian ‘talk story’ time and, along with a surprise or two, will touch on memorable events that weave the history of hula in our Sierra Foothills.
This year’s gala will feature performances by keiki (youth) and wahine (young women) dancers from the group’s sister hālau in Camarillo, CA.
The event begins with a VIP Pūpū Hour at 5:30PM, featuring Hawaiian-themed appetizers on the menu and live music by Island boys, Gary Cambra and Koa Young. VIP tickets are $30 and include preferred seating for the Gala Performance immediately following. General admission tickets for the 7PM Gala Performance are $20.00, and children 10 years and under will be welcomed free of charge, making this a family-oriented evening.
There will be door prizes, a raffle for an ‘Aloha Basket’ filled with island-style gifts and treats, along with a selection of handmade crafts for sale. As always, desserts created with Aloha will be available for purchase.
